Twisting Uncertainty

Time flies so fast, couldn’t believe we reach to the end of 2020. We have been stuck in this pandemic Covid-19 situation for almost a year. All sectors have been affected. Pandemic had caused significant turbulence in people’s employment situations. Not to mention the artists, designers and those who works in the creative industry in Bali. Some of them swerved or switched their job, even started to do small business, just to fulfill their daily needs to survive and adapt facing this uncertain situations.

It is quite understood that for some, creating the artworks is not a priority in post-pandemic recovery or, it cannot be the main income for living. However, creating artwork can provide opportunities because it has its own way to survive and having a voice.

Through the exhibition Twisting Uncertainty, invitee artists and designers are asked to look back carefully and articulate their feelings. How they saw the Covid-19 pandemic being handled? How the mandatory face mask regulation is one of the things that are believed to be our protectors from the virus?

We want to examine the speculation, hopes, frightened or other feelings from the perspective of artists and designers in translating it into visual language in a fun way. Through this exhibition, we also hope to spread a positive spirit for fellow creative workers as well as the public to embrace the upcoming year 2021.
